26607 – VEGETATION CONTROL & CHEMICAL APPLICATION

Brazoria Drainage District No. 4 (herein after referred to as the District) appreciates your time and effort in preparing this offer. Please note that all offers must be received at the designated location by the deadline shown. Any prospective bidder desiring any explanation or interpretation of the solicitation must make a written request which must be received by the District at least five (5) business days prior to the scheduled time for the bid opening. Any information given to a prospective bidder concerning this solicitation will be furnished promptly to all other known prospective bidders as a written amendment/addendum to the solicitation. The District reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids as it deems in its best interest and to waive any formalities.

It is the Bidders responsibility to verify the issuance of Addenda in regard to this Bid. All Addenda shall be submitted to all known bidders and shall be posted on the District’s website (www.bdd4.org). The District shall not be responsible for failed internet connections or power interruptions.

All required Bid documents including any Addenda’s Receipt Forms which may have been issued must be included in a sealed envelope marked with the bidder’s company name, the Bid name, number and due date. Bidders may not submit completed bid packages via email or fax.

Permits

Brazoria Drainage District No. 4 controls certain activities within its jurisdictional authority.  The District grants permits and requires on-site availability of such permits.  Permits granted for activity within the District shall list the specific activities for which the permit was issued and the date of expiration.  Activities shall be limited to those shown on the issued permit.  The applicant is responsible for renewing permits prior to the expiration date and will be considered in non-compliance during the period that the permit is expired.

Brazoria Drainage District No. 4 is a political subdivision of the State of Texas.  It’s mission is to control and distribute the storm and floodwaters within its jurisdiction pursuant to Article XVI, Section 59 of the Texas Constitution, Chapters 49 & 56 of the Texas Water Code and all special legislation pertaining to the District.

To achieve this mission, the Board of Commissioners has directed that the District:

  1. Develop sound fiscal procedures to protect taxpayer monies.
  2. Design near-term and long-term goals and objectives.
  3. Establish guidelines for land development that has the potential to impact the distribution of storm and floodwaters.
  4. Schedule labor force and equipment to meet maximum efficiencies and use thereof.
  5. Report plans and program progress to the public through appropriate entities.

The District adopted a revision to the Rules, Regulations, & Guidelines effective December 1, 2025.

Roy Rd. Detention Pond

The Roy Rd. Detention Pond project is located at the dead end of Roy Rd. adjacent to the south side of Clear Creek in Brookside Village.  It will encompass the District acquired 14.335 acre Taha tract (purchased in FY 2020) and the previously acquired 4.13 acre Loonam tract allowing for a potential total of 18.465 surface acres of detention area and will provide additional flood mitigation for that area in Brookside Village.
